Personally, I would like to use the electronic dehumidifier, as it can provide a more stable and "reliable" condition for your DSLR.

I'd used it for nearly 10 years, and the condition of my SLR, DSLR and even lens are all along very "satisfactory" ......

In line with Eddie's suggestion, about $ 400 -$600 is a reasonable budget, for me, my favour is Mongkok "Wing Shing" ...... I suggested you can go to "Wing Shing" to purchase one .... as "Wing Sing" showed some reputated brand and good for use as well .........

BTW, some of my photo-friends approached shops in "Ap New Street" and picked a electronic dehumidifier for about ~ $ 300 ..... but I think as the difference in price is not too much (especially for you). I suggest you to "Wing Shing" la .....

Yes, mine was brought in Ap Liu Street 2 years ago and the price is reasonable. Don't worry about the quality, it's pretty good and the reputation of that brought in Ap Liu Street is not bad in fact.

個檔口係近街尾/or街頭, 即係近南昌街果邊, 叫"螢記", 有兩個小檔, 你會見到檔口擺滿晒benro腳架果間就係架喇, 佢地喺第二間檔口入面行人路開多咗間地舖, 你搵到間地舖就見到d防潮櫃架喇...有問題就call我啦.

Yes, I just brought cannon 400D kit in recent one month. What I knew is the basic theory and techniques. However, the len included in the kit set is very primitive (18-55mm), no IS or USM. For the dim light condition, It is difficult to get sharp photos, even adjusting the shutter speed and f-value. I think this is the limitation of the len and my technique, right?
By the way, I want to buy one more all rounded len in the future, but meanwhile, I don't want to waste the present one, any good suggestion??

Good, one more "Canonian". Yes, the kit lens have great difficulties in accurate focusing in dim environment, may be it's the result of getting unsharp images. So, if you want to keep your existing kit lens, then you should think of another lens which not overlapping too much in terms of range. What's your budget then?

OIC, then, the Canon EF-s 55-250 f4-5.6 IS would be a perfect match with your kit lens and it's just costing around $1700. Of course it can't be compared with the L lens in terms of quality and build but it is quite economy especially work together with the kit lens,

An usual quastion, Why don't you buy 24-70mm F/2.8L instead?
I have tried 24-70mm, its quality is excellent. It possesses the best image quality within all the zoom lens except 70-200mm f.4L IS.
And the quality control of 24-105mm f/4L IS is often critized by the user due to the high quality variation.
