As we discussed in other topics, we were already agreed to play in this cup and that's why they send us an invitation letter (Andrew, am I correct?). So we SHOULD go as we already know the fees. And we have came up a conclusion to ask HKOTA to donate half of the fees and the other half will be paid by players. I will raise this issue to Rebecca Chan as I will see her in coming tuesday for HKOTA FC promotion issue.

Eddie, you right. We had active and positive discussion about this tournament before. But the donation is a bit increase, if my memory does not defeat me, from $3000 to $5000. If I am wrong, please correct me.

If we agree the tournament in principle, we may answer the organiser that we will join the tournament. However, please check the arrangement of the match, $5000 for 1 day? How many teams will with and how many matches will be played on that day? I think more information may assist in lobbying team members to join.

For fund raising, I have a crazy idea. We may consider asking donation from our colleagues especially those seniors, dept. i/c and of course, HKOTA, like the million walkathon. Of course, we can't give them receipts individually, unless the HKOTA can help. But we can give them the bookkeeping record with the donation receipt from the organiser via email later. After we collect all the donation from colleagues, the football club will pay the different if it is not more than $5000. If it is more than $5000, we will donate all the amount to the organiser.

Of course, all club members who will join the tournament should give a certain amount first, say $100 for each, to show their sincerity.

Please discuss on this suggestion and make up our decision asap. So that members can start inviting donation from colleagues.

and the idea of lokleung is "Right", actually, it is the fund raising idea of the organizer. You MUST asking donation from your friends,colleagues especially those seniors, dept. i/c , like the million walkathon.
for e.g., if the team have 16 players, each one responsible for about $300, each one only asking 6 people for donation of $50 is OK la (DM or SOT may be $100 or $200)! so so so easy!
